  • Minimum marks:
    • General/EWS: 55%
    • OBC/SC/ST/PWD/Transgender: 50%

Age Limit:

  • JRF: Maximum 30 years (relaxation for reserved categories and women).
  • Assistant Professor: No age limit.

Exam Pattern

The UGC NET is conducted online in two papers:

  • Paper 1: General Paper on Teaching and Research Aptitude (compulsory for all).
    • Total Questions: 50
    • Marks: 100
    • Duration: 1 hour
  • Paper 2: Subject-specific paper (based on the chosen subject by the candidate).
    • Total Questions: 100
    • Marks: 200
    • Duration: 2 hours
