The RRB PO Exam, officially called the IBPS RRB Officer Scale-I Exam, is conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) to recruit Probationary Officers (also known as Assistant Managers) for Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) in India.

About RRB PO

The RRB PO Exam, conducted by IBPS, recruits candidates for the Probationary Officer (Officer Scale-I) position in Regional Rural Banks. It includes Preliminary, Main exams, and an Interview to assess candidates’ reasoning, quantitative aptitude, general awareness, and professional suitability for officer roles.

Eligibility Criteria

• Nationality: Must be an Indian citizen or a citizen of Nepal/Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, intending permanent settlement.
• Age Limit: Generally, candidates between 18–30 years are eligible (age relaxation available for reserved categories).
• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university is required. Proficiency in the local language of the RRB state is often mandatory, along with basic computer knowledge.

Selection Process

The RRB PO Exam consists of three stages:
• Preliminary Examination (Prelims)
• Main Examination (Mains)
• Interview

Interview
• Marks: 100 marks
• Weightage: Mains exam and interview scores are combined in an 80:20 ratio for final selection.
• Purpose: Assesses a candidate’s communication skills, leadership qualities, and understanding of banking and economic topics.

Syllabus Overview

• Reasoning Ability: Topics include puzzles, seating arrangements, syllogisms, coding-decoding, inequalities, direction sense, and blood relations.
• Quantitative Aptitude: Includes data interpretation, simplification, number series, profit and loss, percentage, averages, time and work, and time-speed-distance.
• General Awareness: Focuses on current events, banking awareness, financial news, and static GK (geography, history, etc.).
• English/Hindi Language: Comprehension passages, cloze test, vocabulary, fill in the blanks, error spotting, and sentence rearrangement.
• Computer Knowledge: Basics of computer hardware and software, MS Office, internet, computer networks, and shortcuts.
